Someone approaches you with a work enquiry. They’re called Sam. They don’t give a title and they have one of those cute little pride flags on their profile image.
Stop.
You have no clue what gender they are but you’re aware enough to register that you can’t assume anything from the information you have.
You want to engage them, ask your team to set up a call with them and you want them to know that your business is fully inclusive.
You absolutely don’t want to misgender them or make a mountain out of a molehill but – even though you don’t know if this person is gay, or trans, or neither – your spidey senses are tingling and you know this is your chance to really do it right.
But you’re coming out in a cold sweat trying to figure out what words you should actually use to address them that don’t make you sound like a dick…
If you can imagine yourself in that situation then firstly, thank you.
Thank you for caring and for understanding that this stuff really matters to LGBTQ+ people everywhere.
It REALLY does.
And now let us assure you that in just one hour we can teach you everything you need to never have to worry about that shizzle ever again.
Because we’ve written the first Queer-Friendly Business Course, specifically designed for small business owners.
